THE Borneo Cultures Museum attracted a total of more than 1.3 million visitors since its opening in 2022.
Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, said the museum continues to draw attention when it received 73,463 visitors for the first four months of this year.

“Other museums such as Petroleum Museum in Miri, Islamic Heritage Museum, and Natural History Museum had recorded a total of 124,594 visitors since January 2025.
“This data indicates that museums and galleries remain as a prominent attraction in the state,” he said in his ministerial winding-up speech in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today.
Abdul Karim added that in collaboration with the National Geographic, the Sarawak Museum Department has organised an exhibition titled ‘Pristine Seas: Bringing the Ocean Back’ from October 28, 2024, to April 13 this year.
“This highlights the importance of marine protected areas, and recorded 93,528 visitors,” he said.
