“The SABA coaching team, which monitored the performance and presence of the boxers, successfully identified these talents during SUKSAR IV 2026,” he said when contacted.
He added that the boxers will continue to be evaluated on their performance before finalising their positions to represent Sarawak at SUKMA 2026.
He then said the selected boxers will follow a training schedule that has already been set.
“Through this, we will assess the boxers’ abilities and capabilities. During this period, they will also go through warm-up bouts with their teammates,” he added.
He further said that existing boxers may be given opportunities to participate in tournaments either within the state or overseas.
“Our plan is to take the boxers, who will represent Sarawak, for training in neighbouring countries. This provides them with the best exposure to competitive action, so they are not overwhelmed when competing in the actual championships,” he said.
