SIMANGGANG: A four-year-old boy who was accidentally locked inside his father’s car was safely rescued within minutes, thanks to the swift action of firefighters.
Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Station chief Andrew Vengitasamy, said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at around 10 am yesterday.
“Upon arriving at the scene in front of Pak Long’s eatery, the child, identified as Lokman, was found locked inside a Proton Saga for about 10 minutes.
“The team rushed to the scene and immediately began the rescue operation using specialised tools to unlock the rear door of the vehicle,” he said.
He said that after about seven minutes, the door was successfully opened and the child was found safe.
“The boy was later handed over to his guardian for further care,” he said.
Andrew also reminded parents and guardians to be more vigilant to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
