ASAJAYA: A 3-year-old boy nearly lost his life in a river here, but he was rescued in time by villagers yesterday afternoon.
The victim was playing with his family members near the river when the incident took place at around 1.00pm.
It was learnt that the victim could have stumbled on a slippery spot before falling into the river.
Several villagers from a nearby village, who saw him struggling in the water, jumped into the river and pulled him out of the river.
The victim was taken to Asajaya Health Clinic for medical attention. He was later transferred to Sarawak General Hospital for further observation.
