KUCHING: Manifest Fellowship Malaysia brought joy and smiles to residents of Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih Sayang in conjunction with the Chinese New Year 2026 celebration.
The outreach programme was led by Prof Dr Poline Bala and Datin Esther Balan, together with members of the fellowship, to show support and recognise the staff’s efforts in caring for the residents.
Esther said the initiative aimed to uplift both residents and staff through community engagement, practical assistance and meaningful activities, including singing sessions and light refreshments.
“We strive to foster an inclusive and respectful community space for residents, volunteers and sponsors to enhance safety and well-being, while providing essential support.

“Our presence also offers emotional and moral encouragement through shared activities,” she said, adding that the programme promotes civic engagement, volunteerism and cultural inclusivity in the spirit of Chinese New Year.
Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap attended the event as guest and highlighted the importance of reconnecting and caring for one another during the festive season.
“Chinese New Year is not merely a festive celebration, but a meaningful season of sharing, compassion and unity. It is a time when families gather, communities reconnect and we are reminded to care for those who are less fortunate.
“Prosperity (Heng Ong Huat) is most meaningful when it is shared. A caring society is built when we extend our hands to uplift those in need,” he said.
Yap also commended Manifest Fellowship Malaysia for organising the outreach programme, which brought festive cheer, essential supplies and companionship to the residents.

He expressed appreciation to Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih Sayang Kuching Sarawak for its dedication in caring for vulnerable members of society, ensuring they are not forgotten, especially during festive seasons.
“As elected representatives, our responsibility goes beyond infrastructure and development. It is equally important to nurture a compassionate community where no one feels abandoned or alone,” he added.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting welfare organisations and community-driven initiatives in Kota Sentosa, ensuring that development and compassion progress hand in hand.
