BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei: The Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) is committed to building Brunei’s resilient and diverse economy, a senior official has said, reported Xinhua.
The BEDB empowers Brunei’s businesses, creates high-value employment opportunities, and reduces dependence on traditional sectors, BEDB Acting Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Leong, said on Monday to legislative council members in a dialogue.
The dialogue provides a comprehensive overview of the mandates, core functions and strategic programs of the BEDB aimed at supporting the country’s economic growth and strengthening the development of the enterprise.
The dialogue also serves as a platform for engagement at the policy level, enabling open discussion and exchange of perspectives on the main challenges faced by Brunei’s small and medium enterprises.
Also emphasised were the importance of empowering local small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in the retail ecosystem and supply chain, improving cost structure through more efficient procurement models, as well as support for small-scale industries. – BERNAMA-XINHUA
