KUCHING: A total of 400 bubur lambuk packages were distributed in Kampung Tabuan Haji Drahman in Jalan Foochow here, yesterday.
Present to officiate the distribution ceremony was Sarawak Islamic Department (Jais) director Khalidi Ibrahim.
According to Jais Kuching Division officer (Islamic Affairs) Awang Salmi Awang Sabudin, the programme was conducted throughout the state in conjunction with the state’s Nuzul Al-Quran celebration.
“We have done it in several places within Kuching, Bau, Lundu and Sematan, and we will continue in other places too.
“It is estimated that there will be about 300,000 bubur lambuk packages to be distributed in designated locations within the state,” he told reporters after the event.
Also present were Ketua Kaum (KK) Wan Sahappudin Wan Abu Kassim and Masjid Darul Falah’s committee chairman Mohd Hafizan Abdullah.
