KAPIT: Immediate allocation has been approved for the construction of an embankment for the residents of Rumah Mungko, Sungai Oyan, Mujong Kapit here following a landslide in the area.

Deputy Minister of Digital and Member of Parliament for Hulu Rajang, Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong said that the situation truly calls for urgent and decisive action.

“I will immediately send a letter to nearby companies, urging them to assist through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to address the issue promptly,” he said.

He said this during his visit to the landslide site recently.

Ugak stressed that this action was necessary as the collapsed riverbank was dangerously close to the longhouse.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Resident’s Office, District Office, Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID), Fire and Rescue Department, Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), and other agencies for their presence and support.
