MIRI: A man armed with machete has robbed a budget hotel in Permyjaya on Saturday (Dec 22).
According to sources, prior to the incident which happened at 2am, the suspect entered the budget hotel pretending to be a customer, looking for an available room.
Several minutes later, the suspect then took out a machete and pointed it towards the receptionist, demanding for cash.
The receptionist then handed over cash amounting to RM500 to the suspect.
After the suspect left, the receptionist immediately alerted his employer who later on lodged a police report on the incident.
No injuries were reported.
