KAPIT: A total of 25 recipients, including Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG), sports clubs, village development and security committees (JKKK) and local associations, have received RM253,000 in Minor Rural Project (MRP) funds for Bukit Goram.

Bukit Goram assemblyman Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat said the allocation reflects the state government’s commitment to grassroots needs.

“This allocation is a trust that must be used to empower communities, improve infrastructure and support activities with direct impact on the people’s well-being.

“I urged all recipients to manage the funds with responsibility, transparency and effectiveness,” he said during the MRP presentation ceremony here recently.

Jefferson called on PIBG representatives to strengthen learning facilities and student activities, sports clubs to promote unity and healthy lifestyles among youth, and JKKK to utilise the support for improving amenities and governance in longhouse communities.

He added local associations should treat the allocation as a catalyst for inclusive and impactful programmes.

Jefferson also highlighted the importance of aligning grassroots initiatives with the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 and the Digital MADANI agenda, noting that Bukit Goram can become a model of sustainable development through close collaboration between leaders, communities and the government.
