LIMBANG: Sarawak Energy will carry out a scheduled shutdown of the Bunut-Lawas 275kV Transmission Line (Line 1) from today (Sept 9) to Sept 20 to facilitate repair works on the Medamit-Lawas 275kV Transmission Line.
In a statement, the company said electricity supply to Limbang and Lawas would remain uninterrupted during the shutdown, as power would be supplied through the Bunut-Limbang and Limbang-Lawas 275kV Transmission Line (Line 2).
The scheduled works were necessary to safely complete repairs and support the smooth operation of the transmission infrastructure, it said, adding that it would closely monitor the network throughout the shutdown period and have the necessary response measures in place.
Sarawak Energy cautioned that any unplanned interruption affecting Line 2 during this period may result in a temporary impact on supply in Limbang and Lawas, but said it would take all necessary measures to minimise potential disruption.
It added that the works were part of efforts to strengthen the reliability and resilience of the electricity supply network in Northern Sarawak, and thanked the public for their understanding.
