MIRI: A 42-year-old man managed to escape from a car moments before it was engulfed by fire at Taman Bukit Kanada, Jalan Oil Well No.1 here on Wednesday evening.
The victim revealed that he immediately stopped the car by the roadside after he spotted smoke billowing from the car’s bonnet.
Moments later, the car was engulfed by fire.
A fire engine from Miri Fire Station led by PBK II Narain Singh was immediately dispatched to the scene after a distress call was received at 6.01pm.
Firemen managed to put out the fire around 6.45pm.
However, the actual cause of the fire has yet to be determined as investigations are underway.
It was learnt that the car driver was on his way to town prior to the incident.
