MUKAH: The local business community had been advised to embrace the new business approach to position themselves in this competitive world.

In making the call, Tellian State Assemblyman, Yussibnosh Balo, named the digital economy championed by the Chief Minister as the way towards that end.

“I wish to see the business community in Mukah to grow in tandem with the economic approaches undertaken by our Chief Minister with his `Digital Economy’.  The state has allocated RM1 billion to build the digital infrastructure to improve our Internet access to enable our people to engage in this new economic approach. It is so because the traditional way would not sustain following to this more aggressive and efficient medium of developing our economy,” he said.

He also pointed out that the federal government had also announced its support to the state by allocating another RM500 million for the purposes.

“Indeed the step undertaken by our Chief Minister has been emulated by a state in Malaysia, if I am not mistaken Kedah also expressed its intention to engage in digital economy. I consider this is the best platform for me to touch on the subject as the business community plays a very important role in development our economic activities, here. I hope the other business community like the Bumiputera Entrepreneurs would also adopt this `new way’ of business,” he said.

The people’s representative stated this  during the Mukah Chinese Chamber of  Commerce(MCCC)  Chinese New Year(CNY) Gathering 2018 held at Richview Restaurant,  in Mukah, last  Sunday evening.

Hence, he hoped the digital connectivity centre called `Palm House’ to be established in Mukah district to facilitate and consolidate this modern communication technology and its accessibility as desired.

Yussibnosh believed MCCC would continue to play a role in the economic activities in the area, together with other economic related bodies which is the integral part of the total development of the region.

“For MCCC, the combination of young and old in the organisations would augur well with the existing scenario as the young would come up with their new way of thinking and the senior ones with their vast experience in the business world. So these two groups would blend wonderfully in rejuvenating the existing growing economic activities in Mukah.  I hope you continue to work closely with each other and also other businessmen and women from other community in Mukah, and together to develop our area as it is should be,” disclosed  Yussibnosh.

The dinner which commenced at  6.30pm and ended at 10.30pm also saw the presentation of  personal donation to the chamber by  Chan Mang Tiam, educational incentives to the children who excelled in their public examinations, Karoake singing and lucky draws.
