MIRI: The community here is urged to come forward and offer financial assistance to Ivonne Paw Ee Wen, a young girl suffering from severe hearing loss who urgently requires a cochlear implant.
Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting said the cost of the implant is estimated at RM145,000.
The Piasau assemblyman said that Ivonne’s parents have so far managed to raise RM50,000 and still require the remaining RM95,000 to cover the cost of the treatment, which is essential for improving their daughter’s quality of life.
“With continued financial aid and social support from the community, I hope Ivonne will have the opportunity to enjoy a brighter future.
“Every noble effort can change someone’s life. All contributions will be channelled entirely to Ivonne’s family to fund the treatment costs,” he said here yesterday.
Ting further stressed that the support and generosity of the Miri community are crucial in helping Ivonne overcome the challenges and enabling her to lead a better quality of life.
Those wishing to help are encouraged to make donations through Sehati Service & Information Centre via Alliance Bank account number 110270010015028 or contact the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Piasau branch at 085-423399.
