KUCHING: ‘The Angels Initiative and STOP Rabies Campaign’ to protect lives against rabies and stroke will be held in Serian next week.

The community event will be held at the Dewan Serbaguna SJK Chung Hua Serian on Aug 19 to address two critical health concerns, namely rabies and stroke.

Organised by Boehringer Ingelheim, the pharmaceutical company believed that integrating human and animal health can create a healthier and safer environment for everyone.

There will be free anti-rabies vaccination for all pets to ensure the wellbeing of the animals and prevent the spread of rabies to the larger community, especially in an area where veterinary clinics are limited and rabies remains a serious threat.

At the same time, visitors and pet owners can also enjoy free stroke screening services, aimed at promoting early detection for timely intervention.

The event will feature educational activities to allow the public and families to learn about rabies and stroke prevention, and explore a range of hands-on activities, including how to recognise stroke symptoms at home and more.
