KUCHING: Canning Residences is selling at a starting price of RM620 per square feet which is very competitively priced for this location in Kuching.
Top Green Group Director, Tristan Goh, said many of the city’s new high-rise projects consist of small units, while Canning Residences was planned as the opposite.
“We wanted to do something completely different. We want to build homes that are spacious, suitable for family living, and equipped with amenities in a fantastic location at Tabuan Jaya,” he said during a press conference following the project’s official launch at Sheraton Hotel Kuching, here.
The land was acquired some time ago and planning took several years, which he said enabled the project to be priced competitively.
“What we’re offering with Canning Residences is top-notch quality in terms of the materials we’re using.

“We’re using very high-quality finishes, so at this price point, it is, I would say, a very good investment,” he said.
He further shared that construction has already reached the top floor, with work now shifting to interiors and facilities such as swimming pools, a park, and landscaping.
“We expect to complete it by the end of 2026, but conservatively we are guiding for 2027,” he said.
Goh added that most buyers are end-users rather than speculators.
“The smaller units in Kuching’s market now are basically bought for investment. But most of our buyers actually intend to live in the units,” he said.
He cited examples of a buyer who purchased two units for his children, and another case where former neighbours chose to live next to each other again.
“Many saw value in our project because they know that at this price point and in this location, within the next five years the value will definitely be much higher,” he said.
He added that the project had already secured sales during its soft launch prior to the official opening.
Looking ahead, he said there are no similar high-rise projects planned in Kuching for now.
“Instead, we will focus on landed property developments in the Moyan and Jalan Stephen Yong areas, while preparing for high-rise projects in Kota Kinabalu within the next one to two years,” he said.
