KUCHING: The adrenaline-fuelled urban sports festival CANROLL 2.0 is set to return to Kuching Waterfront Central from April 8 to 12, promising an even bigger experience.

The five-day festival will gather athletes, enthusiasts and spectators through high-energy competitions, performances and workshops celebrating the vibrant culture of urban sports and lifestyle.

Director of Canard Group, Nik Mohd Suhaily, said the return of CANROLL reflects the overwhelming support received during the festival’s inaugural edition last year.

“We are thrilled to bring CANROLL back for 2026 after the amazing response in 2025, and we are excited to deliver an even more dynamic experience,” he said.

He added that the festival aims to inspire youth to embrace urban sports while providing a platform for athletes to challenge themselves and showcase their creativity.

According to Suhaily, CANROLL 2.0 will feature action-packed competitions in skateboarding, BMX and rollerblading, alongside thrilling water stunts including jet ski and flyboard demonstrations.

Beyond competitions, visitors can also enjoy vibrant urban culture performances such as breakdance showcases that highlight the artistic and expressive side of the urban sports movement.

The event will also include interactive workshops, offering fans and aspiring athletes with opportunities to learn new skills and connect directly with experienced international competitors.

CANROLL 2.0 continues its collaboration with the Urban World Series from Barcelona, Spain, strengthening international participation and expanding Sarawak’s presence in the global urban sports scene.

Suhaily said the partnership reflects Sarawak’s ambition to position itself as a growing hub for urban sports activities within Southeast Asia.

“Through this collaboration, we hope to bring global urban sports culture closer to local communities while showcasing Kuching as an exciting destination,” he added.

The inaugural CANROLL festival held in 2025 attracted more than 20,000 visitors and featured thrilling performances from both local and international athletes.

Its strong reception demonstrated the rising popularity of urban sports among youth and lifestyle communities in Sarawak and across the region.

Organisers expect CANROLL 2.0 to attract even larger crowds this year as more athletes and spectators from neighbouring countries participate in the festival.

With its mix of sports, culture and community engagement, the festival is poised to further strengthen Kuching’s reputation as a vibrant destination for urban lifestyle events.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the festival and witness the exciting display of athletic skill, creativity and urban culture along the iconic Kuching Waterfront.
