KUCHING: Two men narrowly escaped a fiery fate when their car caught fire at Kampung Tabuan Melayu here, last night (Jan 2).
Both individuals, aged 25 and 20, managed to exit the vehicle and flee to safety.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department in a statement today, a team from the Tabuan Jaya fire and rescue station responded promptly to a distress call at 8.43 pm.
Upon arrival, they found that the vehicle’s engine was totally engulfed in flames.
The firefighters extinguished the fire using water from the fire truck.
Once the situation was deemed safe with no risk of reignition, the operation ended at 8.55 pm.
The cause of the fire and the losses incurred have yet to be ascertained.
