KUCHING: A car caught fire along Jalan Bau-Kuching this morning, with about 60 per cent of the vehicle destroyed.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the incident, involving a Naza Citra, was reported at 9.20am.
A team from the Kota Sentosa station arrived at the scene two minutes later.
“Upon arrival, the fire was found to have involved the engine compartment and front section of the car,” Bomba spokesperson said in a statement.
Firefighters used two hose lines to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to the entire vehicle.
“The fire was brought under control at 9.30am and the operation concluded at 9.50am,” it added.
The driver, identified as Darre Lim Jia Ren, managed to escape unharmed.
