KUCHING: A man was injured after his car skidded off the road near a petrol station along Jalan Penrissen here late Friday night.
The incident, which occurred minutes before midnight, involved a hatchback vehicle that veered onto the roadside.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said a team from the Batu Lintang station was deployed to the scene following a distress call received at 11:30 pm.
“Upon arrival, firefighters found a male driver trapped inside the car. The man complained of pain in his right shoulder,” the department said in a statement.
Firefighters extricated the man and handed him over to Health Ministry personnel for medical treatment.
They also cleaned up the area, which had oil spillage, using sand and water from the fire engine’s tank to prevent further accidents.
