KUCHING: The iconic cat statue at the Pandungan roundabout is set to protect itself from the haze.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng and other councillors yesterday put on a piece of cloth as a face mask on the cat to remind the public to wear face masks to protect themselves from the haze.

A scroll can also be seen hanging on the cat’s paw containing preventive measures to follow such as staying hydrated, staying indoors as much as possible, wearing face masks when outdoors, washing our hands and face after going outdoors, and to remember to seek medical assistance if one is feeling unwell.

Also present was Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) women chief Kho Teck Wan.
