MIRI: A cat trapped in a car engine compartment was rescued by the Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) yesterday.
APM personnel were alerted to the incident at Jalan Lang, Pujut here by the complainant at 8.16 pm.
The woman complainant noticed a dog barking near her car and upon checking she realised a cat was trapped in the engine compartment.
Unable to free the feline by herself, she contacted MERS 999 (Emergency Response Services).
Thanks to the APM personnel, whose training also included rescuing animals in distress, the cat was freed from the compartment.
