KUCHING: Six in Cheras, five more in Paroi – Kuching City FC have put 11 unanswered goals past their opponents in the space of two Super League matches.
The Cats followed Wednesday’s 6-0 win over Kuala Lumpur City FC with a 5-0 victory over Kelantan Red Warrior FC today (Aug 29), securing their second win of the 2026-27 season.
Ramadhan Saifullah opened the account in the seventh minute before Jerome Mpacko Etame and Safawi Rasid took over with two goals each.
Kuching City needed only eight more minutes after the opener to double their advantage, with Etame finding the net in the 15th minute.
Safawi then struck in first-half stoppage time to put the Cats 3-0 up heading into the break.
Any prospect of Kelantan finding their way back into the match was quickly shut down after the restart.
Etame scored his second in the 54th minute before Safawi followed just two minutes later to make it five.
For Etame, the brace continued his prolific week in front of goal after the Cameroonian scored four in the win over KL City. He has now scored six goals across Kuching City’s last two league outings.
Safawi’s double, meanwhile, marked his first goals for the Cats in the Super League this season.
Petrus Shitembi wore the captain’s armband in the absence of regular skipper James Okwuosa, who was suspended after being sent off against KL City on Wednesday.
Kuching City have scored 11 goals without reply across their last two Super League matches, with Etame accounting for six of them as the Cats quickly rediscover their attacking rhythm.
