BINTULU: The launch of the Customer Centric Centre (CCC) by Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) yesterday (Mon) reflected the commitment of the Bintulu Port operator towards innovation, sustainability and service excellence.
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development of Sarawak, Datuk Majang Renggi, stated that the development of the CCC was a significant step in the transformation of Bintulu Port to meet the future demands of a greener and more competitive environment.
“The CCC is not just a new operational centre but a symbol of how BPHB prioritises customer-focused innovation while supporting Sarawak’s sustainable development agenda,” he said.
He made these remarks during his speech at the launch of the CCC and BPHB’s Sustainability Initiative at BPHB’s Container Complex, Tanjung Kidurong Road yesterday..
He explained that the CCC would streamline the management of visitors and contractors, centralise customer services and enhance port entry protocols, thereby improving safety and the user experience.
According to Majang, today’s ports must not only serve as gateways for trade but also as models for green growth and smart innovation.
“In line with the aspirations of the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, our ports must reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and adopt smart technologies,” he added.

He also praised BPHB’s proactive efforts in digitising operations, introducing electric vehicles and alternative fuel-powered equipment as well as implementing best practices in marine biodiversity conservation.
“These measures demonstrate that economic progress and environmental conservation can go hand in hand,” he noted.
Majang, who is also Samalaju assemblyman, called on other port operators in Malaysia and the region to emulate Bintulu Port’s approach in building a smart, green and customer-oriented port ecosystem.
“As a strategic trade hub in Southeast Asia, Sarawak must be prepared to meet the global demand for sustainable logistics. The CCC is a milestone towards that direction,” he concluded.
He expressed confidence that with the launch of the CCC, BPHB would continue to be a leading example in the port and logistics industry in the country.
The Ppresident and Group CEO of BPHB, Ruslan Abdul Ghani, was also present at the event.
The CCC launch ceremony was attended by the senior management of BPHB, government agency representatives, and key industry players.
