KOTA SAMARAHAN: Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch has wrapped up the Come Discover Bumi Kenyalang 2025 (CDBK2025) with a closing dinner that celebrates bonds of friendship and cultural exchange on Friday (Aug 22).
In his closing address, UiTM Sarawak Rector Professor Dr Firdaus Abdullah expressed his delight and honour in hosting the third edition of this international inbound mobility initiative, describing it as “a bridge that connects us through friendship, shared experiences, and mutual understanding.”
“This year’s programme welcomed 40 participants comprising undergraduate students and staff from the National University of Management, Cambodia; Guangxi Minzu Normal University and Quanzhou Technical & Vocational University, China; and Universitas Panca Bhakti (UPB), Pontianak, Indonesia.
“The one-week programme provided participants with invaluable opportunities to embrace cultural diversity, improve cross-cultural competence, and nurture personal growth.
“Grades and certificates cannot measure the laughter shared, the lessons learned, and the confidence gained. These experiences leave a lasting impact on hearts and minds,” he said.
Dr Firdaus also emphasised UiTM Sarawak’s commitment to promoting internationalisation and strengthening global visibility through meaningful collaborations.
“We have signed numerous MoUs and MoAs with foreign universities to foster mutually beneficial partnerships.
“Ultimately, these efforts are for the benefit of future generations, ensuring our students are on par with their international peers,” he said.
He highlighted UiTM Sarawak’s role in supporting the Sarawak State government’s socio-economic development agenda, stressing the importance of preparing a future-ready workforce that can contribute to a dynamic global economy.
“Participants from Cambodia, China, and Indonesia face similar national responsibilities, and I hope for shared success through collaboration,” he said.
