LUNDU: The Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) Lundu is poised to establish itself as a premier educational institution producing aerospace engineers in the future.

Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan, said that the institution is now recognised as an Aerospace Academy, drawing students not only from Lundu, Bau, and Sematan but from across Sarawak.

He said this initiative aligns with the vision of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to position the state as an aerospace industry hub.

“This effort begins with training programmes such as helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), as well as avionics, in collaboration with the AIROD Aviation Design Centre (ADC) and i-CATS University College,” he said during the launch of the CENTEXS Lundu Fun Day 2024 recently.

Azizul also congratulated CENTEXS Lundu for achieving a 90 per cent student enrolment rate in the October session, despite only being in operation for two years.

He added that the institution is now proof that producing highly skilled talent can be achieved through strategic planning and strong support from the state government.

He also expressed hope that programmes like the Fun Day could introduce CENTEXS Lundu to a wider audience, showcasing the variety of programmes and courses available.
