KUCHING: A central media hub is being developed in Kuching to support coverage operations for the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2027.
Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the facility, located near Baitulmakmur Complex, is currently under construction and is expected to be completed before the regional Games.
“We are building a central media centre, which must be ready before the SEA Games.
“The building would be able to hold a number of media practitioners during the Games as well”, he told a press conference today (Apr 28).
Abdul Karim added that competition venues will also be equipped with their own media facilities.
The development comes as Sarawak prepares to host the opening ceremony and organise 17 of the 38 sports contested during the Games.
