SRI AMAN: Central Zone edged Western Zone by a single point in a tense women basketball encounter on the second day of the Sarawak Games (SUKSAR) IV 2026.
Playing at the Mini Stadium of the Sri Aman District Council (MDSA) today (Feb 6), Central Zone clinched a narrow 41-40 victory after a tightly contested four-quarter battle that kept local spectators on edge until the final whistle.


Western Zone were on the back foot but held the advantage after the third quarter, but Central Zone stayed composed and asserted their dominance in the fourth quarter to edge the contest and secure the slim win and valuable group-stage points.
Meanwhile, Northern Zone recorded a 44-29 victory over Central Zone in a separate fixture on the opening day.
In another match, Southern Zone produced a dominant performance to defeat Western Zone 69-27, showcasing their superior in pace and ball movement throughout the contest.
The contrasting results showed the competitiveness and intensity of the SUKSAR IV 2026 basketball competition from Feb 5 to Feb 7, with teams continuing to battle for momentum as the tournament progresses.
