KUCHING: The Sarawak Society for the Blind Centre here continues to inspire the community by empowering individuals with visual impairments.
Kota Sentosa assemblyman, Wilfred Yap Yau Sin, said the centre embodies hope, resilience and the transformative power of inclusivity.
“Every day, it uplifts lives, empowers individuals with visual impairments, and reminds us all that ability knows no bounds,” he said when officiating at the centre’s fundraising sale today.
Yap further commended the staff, volunteers and supporters for their commitment, describing them as “architects of dignity and opportunity” for those they serve.
As a show of support, he then presented a contribution of RM5,000 to assist the centre’s ongoing efforts.
“This sum, while modest, symbolises our shared belief in your mission. But let me be clear: true change requires more than funds,” he said.
Yap also encouraged the public to support the centre’s fundraising activities, highlighting that every purchase and donation would contribute towards creating a society where no one is left behind.
“Let today’s efforts remind us that together, we can create ripples of change that transform lives,” he said.
