KUCHING: MUSCS A and Project Waddle emerged as Division 1 and Division 2 champions respectively as the inaugural DAL HCM Kuching Pickleball League 2026 concluded on Saturday (Aug. 1) after four weeks of competitive action.
MUSCS A claimed the Division 1 title to lift the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof Challenge Trophy, along with the championship trophy, medals and RM7,000 in prize money.
MUSCS B finished runners-up to receive silver medals and RM5,000, while SLPAS secured third place with bronze medals and RM4,000.
MUSCS C placed fourth to earn medals and RM2,000, while MUSCS D completed the top five with medals and RM1,500.
In Division 2, Project Waddle captured the title, championship trophy, medals and RM3,000.
GBL x ZBPC finished second to receive medals and RM2,000, while MUSCS X claimed third place with medals and RM1,000.
The month-long league featured exciting rallies, intense competition and exemplary sportsmanship, bringing together some of Kuching’s leading pickleball teams while showcasing the continued growth of the sport in Sarawak.
Among those present at the closing ceremony were Irwan Zulkarnain, Political Secretary to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation and Petra Jaya MP, Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof; and community leader Jamaluddin Buji, Chairman of the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) for Taman Sourabaya Indah, Sourabaya Heights, Taman Lebunda and Taman Demak Indah.
Also present was Datuk Dzulkarnaen Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DAL HCM Sdn Bhd and President of MUSC Sarawak Sports and Recreation Club.
The successful staging of the inaugural league marked another milestone for pickleball in Sarawak, inspiring greater participation and further strengthening the sport’s development across the state.
