BINTULU: This city is solidifying its position as an international sports hub with the Bintulu Amateur Muaythai Championship (BAMC) Vol. 2 at NAIM Paragon.

The high-calibre tournament not only elevated the profile of martial arts but also provided a platform to showcase Bintulu to the world.

Sarawak Muaythai Association (PMNS) president Jumaat Ibrahim expressed pride in the event’s success, highlighting the contributions of the Bintulu team led by Hadi.

“This achievement showcases the immense potential of Bintulu as a centre for martial arts on the global stage,” he said during the opening ceremony on Friday night.

He urged the younger generation to embrace muaythai and seize opportunities to elevate the sport locally and nationally.

“Muaythai is more than just a sport; it’s a vehicle to introduce Bintulu’s unique identity and potential to the world,” he added.

“This city is becoming a symbol of progress and sportsmanship on the international scene.”

BAMC Vol. 2 is part of PMNS’s ongoing commitment to promoting muaythai in Sarawak and nurturing local talent.
