KUCHING: SM Min Lit Batu Kawa is set to mark its 60th anniversary with a charity run themed “Speed Forward GoGoGo” on June 14 within the school compound.
The event aims to promote healthy living, strengthen community engagement, and foster social cohesion, while raising funds for the school’s Smart Classroom Fund, with a target of RM100,000 to enhance digital learning infrastructure.
Principal Lai Soh Ching highlighted the event’s dual focus on fitness and philanthropy.
“Community gives back to education, and education gives back to community,” she said.
She urged the public, corporations, associations and community groups to participate and support the initiative.
The run will feature 3KM and 5KM categories to suit participants of all ages and fitness levels.
Three participation packages are available, with Package A including a T-shirt, medal and bib for RM50, Package B consisting of a T-shirt and bib for RM40, and Package C offering a medal and bib for RM30.
Early-bird registration offers RM10 off per package until Feb 14, while standard fees apply until April 20.
Specially designed 60th anniversary T-shirts and medals will be issued to participants, and a lucky draw will take place on the day of the event.
