MIRI: An unidentified body was found inside a burnt car along Jalan Datuk Temenggung Oyong Lawai Jau here early Sunday morning.
The incident happened at 3:39 am when a Proton Satria Neo burst into flames near a well-known resort.
Firefighters from Miri station were promptly dispatched to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
After putting out the flames, the team discovered a victim in the front seat, burned beyond recognition.
The charred remains have been handed over to the police for further action. At the time of writing, the victim’s identity and gender remain unknown.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team to return to the station.
Authorities are still probing the exact cause of the fire.
