Playing in front of home fans at Xiamen’s Fenghuang Gymnasium, China took an early lead through mixed doubles, where Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping edged Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yu-jung 21–16, 17–21, 21–15.
Korea equalised with a strong women’s singles performance, as world no. 1 An Se-young further solidified her winning streak after beating Wang Zhiyi 21–18, 21–17.
However, China quickly reasserted control as Shi Yuqi’s commanded a dominating 21–5, 21–5 win over Jeon Hyeok-jin in men’s singles.
The championship was sealed when Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning secured a 21–14, 21–17 victory in women’s doubles.
The victory marks China’s 14th Sudirman Cup title out of 18 editions, including an ongoing streak of four consecutive wins (2019, 2021, 2023, 2025). China has contested every final since the tournament began in 1989, missing out on the title only four times.
South Korea remains the second-most successful nation with 4 titles, won in 1991, 1993, 2003, and 2017. Despite falling short this year, Korea demonstrated strong depth and resilience throughout the tournament.
Meanwhile, Malaysia crashed out in the quarter-finals round after losing 3-0 to China.
The Sudirman Cup was held from Apr 27 to May 4.
