LAWAS: The celebration of Christmas in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere continues to reflect the strong spirit of unity among Sarawak’s multi-ethnic communities, particularly in the Trusan sub-district.

Lawas Member of Parliament, Datuk Henry Sum Agong, said such harmony and unity must continue to be nurtured and preserved, especially among the younger generation, to ensure long-term stability and well-being for the state.

“We hope the younger generation will continue to uphold and maintain good relations among all communities regardless of background, as this is Sarawak’s true strength,” he said when officiating the Trusan Sub-District Christmas Celebration 2025 held at the futsal court of the Trusan Community Hall here on Tuesday.

He also expressed appreciation for the current Sarawak Government leadership, which he said has brought various development initiatives and progress for the people.

According to him, the implementation of development projects and initiatives aims to improve public facilities and raise the standard of living across various sectors.

Henry also thanked the organising committee and the Trusan Sub-District Office for their commitment and cooperation in ensuring the success of the event.

He further conveyed Christmas greetings from Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan to those present, noting that the celebration was observed in a modest and family-oriented manner.

The event, organised by the Trusan Sub-District Office, was attended by about 200 people, including Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier, Awangku Jinal Abedin Datuk Pengiran Jawa; Assistant Administrative Officer of the Trusan Sub-District Office, Awang Muhamad Redhuan Awang Mushtapa; as well as local community and ethnic leaders.
