BETONG: The warmth of Christmas was felt at Rumah Bantan Jerman, Sungai Langit, Layar here on Friday as Deputy Premier and Bukit Saban assemblyman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas joined the longhouse community in celebrating the festive season.
Accompanied by his wife, Datin Amar Datuk Doreen Mayang, Uggah was welcomed by residents in a gathering marked by goodwill, familiarity and shared celebration, reflecting the close ties between state leaders and grassroots communities.
The visit took place following an invitation to the longhouse’s Christmas open house, organised by residents as an expression of gratitude and unity while embracing the spirit of togetherness that defines the celebration.
Moments of interaction and conversation with villagers highlighted the importance of personal engagement in sustaining social harmony, particularly within Sarawak’s diverse cultural landscape.
