KUCHING: The 2024 Kuching Christmas Parade transformed the city into a vibrant celebration of joy and unity, drawing over 7,000 participants from various denominations last Saturday.
With the theme “Peace Be With You,” the event featured hymns, prayers, and scripture readings in multiple languages, emphasising peace and reconciliation.
Festivities began at 6.30 pm at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Jubilee Ground, starting with the Apostles’ Creed and followed by hymns, including “Silent Night.”
Most Reverend Archbishop Datuk Dr Simon Poh delivered a benediction before the parade commenced at 7 pm.

The parade featured 11 colourful floats, including Nativity scenes and festive costumes, accompanied by carol singing and performances by six marching bands from the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigades.
A gift distribution at 8.15 pm added to the festive spirit, and the event concluded at 9 pm.
Organised by the Association of Churches Sarawak (ACS) and Sarawak Evangelical Christian Association (SECA), with the Methodist Church SCAC hosting, the parade brought together diverse churches, fostering community and festive cheer.
