KUCHING: More than just a martial arts team, the Sarawak Samarahan Tang Soo Do Association proved itself a close-knit family during its vibrant Chinese New Year celebration at its headquarters recently.

The special celebration drew enthusiastic participation from students of various ethnic backgrounds, along with their parents and instructors. Members gathered to strengthen bonds, encourage one another, and share the festive spirit.

In a statement today (Feb 26), the association said the instructors extended their sincere blessings and words of encouragement to students and parents.

“The association represents a multicultural family united through Tang Soo Do. It is not only a form of physical training but also a platform for cultivating positive values and strong character.

“Through consistent practice, students are nurtured in discipline, respect, perseverance and humility. The Chinese New Year gathering was a true reflection of these shared values and spirit,” the statement read.

In the world of Tang Soo Do, mutual support and growing together are among the greatest treasures. Whether striving side by side in competitions or uplifting one another in daily life, this camaraderie strengthens every member of the team.

“Over the past year, the team has achieved significant progress in both training and competitions. Looking ahead, members have set new goals and aspirations for self-improvement and personal growth.

“At the close of the event, instructors reviewed the past year’s efforts and achievements, encouraging students to stay true to their original aspirations in the Year of the Horse – galloping forward bravely, embracing challenges, and striving to become better versions of themselves.

“The gathering ended on a note of gratitude, as it is through everyone’s participation and contribution that the association continues to grow warmer and more united,” the statement added.

The Sarawak Samarahan Tang Soo Do Association welcomes children and adults of all ages to join and learn Tang Soo Do.

Training sessions are held every Saturday and Sunday at various locations in Kuching and Samarahan.
