KOTA SAMARAHAN: A driver narrowly escaped death when his car was engulfed in flames near Kampung Pangkalan Kuap along Jalan Datuk Muhamad Musa here today (Feb 6).
According to a statement by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 6.31 am and a team from Kota Samarahan station was quickly deployed to the scene.
“The incident involved a Proton Saga vehicle, which was completely destroyed by the fire. Fortunately, the driver managed to escape just in time before the vehicle was fully engulfed,” said the statement today (Feb 6).
The department added that the victim sustained minor injuries and was given first aid by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team before being transferred to the Sarawak Heart Centre for further treatment.
Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze and conducted safety checks before concluding the operation at 7.28 am.
