KUCHING: No political matters were discussed during the recent visit by Council of Eminent Persons chairman, Tun Daim Zainuddin to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here on Friday.
“Nothing eh,” said Abang Johari on a short note when reporters pressed him for comments on what had transpired during the meeting.
He said that they only talked on economic development.

“Tun Daim was quite impressed with our economy and the development of Kuching city,” he told reporters after launching the ‘Get Together With The Sikh Community and Vaisakhi 2019’ at the Kuching Sikh Temple at Jalan Masjid here, yesterday.
When asked whether there was anything political discussed, the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman said, “No”.
On Friday, Tun Daim had paid a courtesy visit to the chief minister at his officer in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here.
The meeting had definitely sparked curiosity on what were discussed. And could it be related to Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s meeting with GPS lawmakers on July 30.
Abang Johari on Aug 1 said the meeting was just a chit-chat, and was not about to show support to Tun Mahathir to stay on as Prime Minister as alleged. (https://www.newsarawaktribune.com.my/cm-its-just-a-chit-chat-its-nothing/)
