KUCHING: A vote of confidence from the coach has sparked belief within the squad, as PFA Odin climbed to second place in the Malaysia Premier Futsal League (MPFL) Division 2.

Team morale remains high, with PFA Odin showing promising form following a solid start to the season.

Several players have continued their journey with the team after competing in Division 2 last year, bringing valuable experience and consistency to the court.

This season, the squad has also welcomed new talent from the PFA Odin Academy, injecting fresh energy and depth into the lineup.

“There were definitely some nerves at the start, but once the game began, the momentum shifted.

“We played with confidence, especially after being given the coach’s trust,” said Asyraff Zakaris, who also scored in their recent 4-2 win over Kuala Lumpur 2.

He made these remarks to Sarawak Tribune when contacted recently.

Additionally, coach Mohd Faizal is optimistic about the team’s trajectory, despite their focus on player development.

“Definitely. Our training and tactical approach have evolved,”he said when asked about thoughts of being second in the league.

“Although this campaign is primarily about giving exposure to our new players ahead of the upcoming U19 National Championship and SUKMA 2025 in Selangor, we’re adapting our methods,” he said.

He added that the coaching team is applying lessons learned from working with former national coaches and top club coaches from Thailand.

“This allows us to share new insights and techniques with our newer coaches as we move forward,” he said.

PFA Odin is now preparing for key fixtures against Negeri Sembilan and Nilai City SC, as they aim to maintain their strong position in the MPFL Division 2 standings.
