MIRI: The Civil Defence Force (APM) here captured two snakes at two separate locations today afternoon (Mar 16).
A spokesman from APM Miri said the first case involved a one-metre-long cobra at a house in Tudan Desaras 2, Phase 6.
A 39-year-old woman came across the venomous reptile outside her bedroom.
Fearing for her family’s safety, she alerted the authorities for assistance around 1.30 pm and a four-member team was subsequently deployed to the scene.

On arrival, the team secured the house and captured the cobra that was hiding behind a chiller.
Meanwhile, the second case involved a two-metre-long reticulated python in the backyard of a house in Shiang Shiang Garden, Jalan Almeria.
The python’s presence was noticed by the 23-year-old complainant’s mother who was drying powder in the backyard.
APM Miri was contacted around 1.35 pm and a three-member team was deployed to capture the reptile.
The team secured the backyard and captured the python which was hiding under a cassava tree.
