KUCHING: Two colleagues died after the motorcycle they were on collided with a car at the traffic lights junction at Stutong near Saradise, yesterday.

Anistasia Johea, 19, from Bau and pillion rider Maria Bujang, 27, from Kampung Bunga Mawang, Tebakang were killed instantly in the collision at 12.05am. Both were working in a coffee shop.

Sarawak Head of Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Supt Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed that the victims were heading to One TJ from Jalan Stampin.

Anistasia was making a right turn when their bike collided with a car driven by a shopkeeper at the traffic light.

The driver escaped with minor injuries.

Alexson said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1987.
