KUCHING: This year’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration stands as a strong symbol of unity, harmony and growing collaboration among the people, leaders and government agencies in Sarawak.
The celebration, which brings together individuals from all walks of life, has become more than just a cultural or religious event. It serves as a crucial platform to promote understanding, foster relationships and strengthen social cohesion.
Batang Sadong Member of Parliament, Rodiyah Sapiee, noted that Aidilfitri is not only a time for families to reunite and strengthen bonds but also an opportunity for communities and leaders to come together in a spirit of shared purpose.
“This kind of gatherings is essential in fostering trust and cooperation among all stakeholders, especially as Sarawak continues to pursue its vision of becoming a more advanced and prosperous state,” she said.
Rodiyah made these remarks during the Aidilfitri gathering organised by Padungan PBB on Wednesday night.
The Padungan PBB chief also stressed the importance of sustaining this spirit of togetherness, particularly in achieving the objectives outlined in the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
These objectives, she said, can only be realised through consistent and meaningful collaboration across all levels of society, from grassroots communities to government and political leadership.
“Aidilfitri is a celebration that transcends differences,” she added.
“It allows people of all backgrounds to unite in love, compassion and brotherhood.
“It is through this unity that we can drive Sarawak forward.”
She also pointed out that the strong cooperation among the component parties of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), particularly Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) and Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), plays a vital role in ensuring inclusive and sustainable development for the state.
