Colliding motorcyclists both injured

SIBU: A man and a woman escaped death when the motorcycles they rode collided with each other, here at Jalan Teku on Wednesday (Sept 2).

According to State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the victims were identified as Muhd Shahir, 42, and Kartiza Awi, 41, said a press statement.

“A distress call about the incident was received around 6.12am and a team of firefighters was despatched to the scene. It was found out that both motorcycles, namely a Yamaha motorcycle rode by Shahir and a Modenas rode by Kartiza collided with each other head on as they were coming from opposite directions.

“Both victims suffered injuries. Shahir broke his leg while Kartiza broke her arm,” the statement said.

Both victims were given early treatment before being taken to the hospital for further treatment and action.
