KUCHING: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS) has affirmed its commitment to cultural preservation and community development by becoming a Gold Sponsor for the upcoming Sarawak Regatta-Kuching Waterfront Festival 2023 for the seventh consecutive year.
PETRONAS Sarawak general manager Zulaihi Mantali expressed excitement of its involvement in the Sarawak Regatta-Kuching Waterfront Festival 2023 and to sponsor the prestigious ‘Piala PETRONAS’ long boat race competition.
“We remain dedicated to supporting initiatives that foster the spirit of unity among the people and uphold tradition and we look forward to connecting with the vibrant community during this festival,” he said in a statement today (October 25).
As part of its sponsorship, PETRONAS will also support the ‘Piala PETRONAS’ long boat race competition, scheduled from Oct 27 to Nov 5.
This year’s competition has attracted the participation of around 60 teams from Malaysia and 20 other countries.
Visitors to the festival will have the opportunity to explore the PETRONAS booth at the Kuching Waterfront, where a variety of merchandise, including PETRONAS-Sarawak Regatta t-shirts, will be available.
PETRONAS, in collaboration with Petrosains and Cats.fm, has organised interactive activities such as science shows, games, and workshops, offering visitors the chance to win various prizes.
