KUCHING: In a joint community effort to address blood shortages and promote public health, the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Simpang Tiga Kenyalang, the People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA) Padawan District, and the Malaysian Red Crescent Stampin Branch will be organising a Community Blood Donation Campaign this coming Saturday (July 19).
The event will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at CityOne Megamall (1st Floor, Mall 1) under the theme ‘Give Blood, Give Hope, Together We Save Lives’.
The campaign aims to replenish blood bank supplies and raise awareness about the life-saving impact of regular blood donation.
In addition to the blood drive, the event will offer several complimentary health services for visitors and donors.
Diabetes Malaysia (Sarawak Branch) will be providing free health screenings to help individuals monitor their blood sugar levels and overall wellbeing.
PMG Pharmacy will offer a range of diagnostic services, including free skin analysis, fundoscopy tests for early detection of eye conditions, bone screening, and dental consultations.
These services aim to encourage the public to take proactive steps in maintaining their health while supporting a life-saving cause.
To appreciate the generosity of donors, goodie bags will be presented to all successful blood donors.
“This is more than just a donation campaign; it’s a chance for the community to come together, give hope, and save lives,” said the organisers.
The public is encouraged to participate in this meaningful initiative.
