SRI AMAN: The Community Leaders Association here yesterday received a total grant of RM50,000 courtesy of three people’s representatives.
Giving the allocations were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun who donated RM20,000 whereas Deputy Home Minister Dato Masir Kujat and Bukit Begunan Assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang allocated RM15,000 each during the launch of the Bukit Begunan Community Leaders Association here.
Meanwhile Entulu in his launching speech said Barisan Nasional (BN) representative is advised not to take action against any community leader who did not support them at the previous elections because they would return to BN after finding there is no benefit when they support the opposition.
“This has happened in the 13th General Election (GE13) when a community leader supported the opposition candidate that opposed me in my constituency Selangau.
“But that person was eventually turned into a strong man of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) after the end of the 13th general election … so treat this incident as a lesson for us not to take action against them on this issue,” said Entulu.
He also appealed to the Tuai Rumah Association to help their members who still do not have a Community Leader certificate.
He said Tuai Rumah Association may be able to use their financial fund to cover the expenses of their members during the process of applying the certificate to be a community leader in their respective areas.
“Most importantly is a community leader who manages to get the certificate who must do a good job as well as able to unite the people in their respective administrative areas,” said Entulu.
