KUCHING: The Sarawak government is supporting the upcoming ‘Nidji: Pelangi di Kuching 2025’ concert at Stadium Perpaduan on April 26.

According to a news report by TVS, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said that his ministry is always ready to support event organisers who wish to hold entertainment events in the region.

“The ministry remains committed to supporting and assisting organisers in executing various programs, including music festivals, concerts for the youth, and cultural events for senior citizens.

“We will always be here to provide support,” he said during a press conference at Plaza Merdeka yesterday (Feb 20).

As a gesture of support, he said the Sarawak government is providing the concert venue at Stadium Perpaduan in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development.

“This time, they are coming to Kuching and requested some assistance. We are providing them with a venue, which falls under my ministry as well as the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development,” he explained.

Abdul Karim also expressed his appreciation for the initiative taken by young event organisers and hoped to see more events like this in the future, including in the fields of music, film, and food festivals.

“If anyone wishes to organise such events in the future — whether in music, film, food festivals, or other areas — there are still many opportunities, and you are always welcome to engage with the ministry.

“I know Nidji has a strong fan base not just in Sarawak but also in Indonesia.

“This is our way of showing support for the entertainment industry. I hope this concert will be a success and a memorable experience for all,” he added.
