MUKAH: Tellian
assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo
is urging the Sarawak government to consider providing incentives to media
personnel.
He said it was their
duty to report and disseminates information on the Covid-19 pandemic and they
also faced risks.
“Perhaps the
incentive could keep their spirits up and motivate them to provide better and
comprehensive coverage on current affairs,” he said to New Sarawak Tribune via
WhatsApp yesterday.
He was asked to
comment on the Sarawakku Sayang Special Aid Package worth more than RM1.15
billion announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in
Kuching on Monday.
The aid is aimed at
helping Sarawakians face the economic uncertainties aggravated by the pandemic,
which led to the Sarawak government enforcing the movement control order from
March 18 to 31.
